Bengaluru is all set to build South India’s largest Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Obalapur on the northern outskirts of Bangalore. Full-scale construction will begin in March.
The project is being developed by Bangalore MMLP Private Limited for Rs 1,770 crore. Spread over 400 acres, MMLP will provide logistics, warehousing, and cold storage facilities, aiming to reduce overall logistics costs from 13% to 9% and production. Offers comprehensive facilities including logistics services, warehousing, and cold storage.
The primary objective is to reduce the overall logistics cost, aiming to bring it down from 13% to 9%, thereby increasing the competitiveness of exports. By 2070, the park is expected to have a substantial storage capacity of around 30 million metric tons.
The logistic park will facilitate connectivity through various modes of transport, including the Bangalore-Hubli-Mumbai rail line to the south, the industrial park being developed by KIADB to the east, and the Dabuspet-Doddaballapur-Hosakote extension of the Ring Road (NH). . 648) to the north.
