To expand its European e-commerce operation, DHL Group has officially finished the acquisition of Turkish parcel delivery company MNG Kargo and its subsidiaries.

Under the direction of DHL eCommerce, the e-commerce logistics expert of DHL Group, the integration of MNG Kargo will proceed.

Customers will be able to “benefit from unique logistics offerings within Turkey as well as cross-border through the collaboration of the various DHL divisions already present in Turkey,” according to DHL, who stated the acquisition will enable them to do so.

Over 800 last-mile branches and 27 mid-mile sorting centers are part of Turkey’s cities’ recently acquired parcel network.

The e-commerce market in Turkey is expected to see double-digit growth in the coming years – significantly higher than in the EU markets, added DHL.

“MNG Kargo’s expertise in parcel courier services combined with its extensive domestic network will help us to further expand our service offering in Turkey and enhance our strong cross-border European parcel network. We extend a warm welcome to our new colleagues and look forward to leveraging the tremendous e-commerce potential in the country and beyond together,” said Pablo Ciano, DHL eCommerce chief executive.

In September last year, DHL Supply Chain also acquired a majority stake in Dutch e-commerce specialist Monta.
