FedEx Express, the world’s biggest express transportation company, has established FedEx Regional Economy and FedEx Regional Economy Freight services to meet the growing need for cross-border trade in the Middle East area.

The deferred, day-definite road services offer businesses including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) cost-effective shipping solutions for less urgent shipments within key countries in the Middle East.

FedEx Regional Economy and FedEx Regional Economy Freight use the Middle East Road Network (MERN) to provide seamless connectivity between Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, while also ensuring the safe and secure transportation of goods via FedEx’s website real-time track and trace. Shipments will be cleared expressly, with transit durations ranging from three to five business days for Regional Economy and four to six business days* for Regional Economy Freight between important Middle Eastern markets.

SAVING COSTS

Customs-cleared, door-to-door intra-Middle East economy road services enable customers to save significantly on less time-sensitive deliveries of shipments up to 68kg using FedEx Regional Economy and shipments above 68kg using FedEx Regional Economy Freight, without sacrificing reliability.

Customers may also use the range of digital solutions to streamline intra-Middle East cross-border deliveries, such as creating shipments, managing pick-ups, paying, and more.

FedEx Regional Economy services are appropriate for companies in a variety of industries, such as automotive, electronics, oil and gas, fashion and retail, chemicals, e-commerce, and healthcare. These businesses have varying transportation needs, ranging from little packages to heavyweight goods. Businesses can utilise the cheap road service to send palletized or irregular-sized items, as well as commodities that would not fit in standard-size air shipment containers.

BOOSTING OFFERINGS

“At FedEx we are constantly strengthening our service offerings to meet evolving customer demands. We are seeing businesses prioritise day-definite delivery over speed, recognising that not all shipments are urgent and require next-day delivery,” said Taarek Hinedi, vice president of FedEx Express Middle East and Africa operations. “The launch of our Regional Economy services is part of our continuous efforts to equip businesses with differentiated shipping solutions that offer more value, contributing to the growth of businesses and regional industries.”

FedEx has introduced the FedEx International Economy and FedEx International Economy Freight services in Saudi Arabia, allowing Saudi businesses to increase their worldwide reach in a cost-effective and dependable manner.
