As the mango season came to an end, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru saw a 124 percent increase in mango exports compared to the previous year, setting a three-year tonnage record.

“In 2023, BLR Airport processed exports of 684,648 kgs of mangoes, a significant rise from 305,521 kgs exported in the previous year. This season’s exports saw an 86 percent increase in the number of pieces with approximately 1.7 million pieces of mangoes being exported,” an official release stated, adding further that BLR Airport reported increased export of mangoes to the United States this year where prominent metropolitan regions such as Dallas Fort Worth, Washington D.C., and San Francisco played a pivotal role.
