Etihad Rail has launched a new freight rail service connecting Abu Dhabi with Fujairah in partnership with AD Ports Group, creating a direct rail link between Abu Dhabi’s industrial zone and Fujairah’s port facilities on the Indian Ocean.

The new Fujairah–Abu Dhabi service connects the UAE’s industrial heartland with maritime gateways beyond the Strait of Hormuz. The 200-kilometre rail connection extends the reach of Fujairah Terminals, enabling cargo to move directly from the port to Abu Dhabi’s industrial zone.

The service also introduces a new option for shipping lines, freight forwarders and cargo owners to book shipments directly to Abu Dhabi’s industrial zone, where cargo can undergo inspection, customs clearance and release.

Operating three times a week, the service is designed to improve cargo connectivity between ports, industrial centres and key regional markets.

The rail link further strengthens the UAE’s logistics network and connectivity with the GCC, India, the Red Sea and East Africa.

Located beyond the Strait of Hormuz, Fujairah provides an important alternative maritime gateway for cargo movement. The new rail connection integrates Fujairah Terminals, the UAE National Rail Network and ICAD (Industrial City of Abu Dhabi), bringing port-linked logistics services closer to customers and expanding the reach of the UAE’s freight infrastructure.
