Mr. Olaf Gelhausen will take over as the Chief Operating Officer of APM Terminals on November 15, 2023. He will oversee all COO activities in this capacity, including procurement, asset management, automation, global operations, asset design and engineering, LEAN, decarbonization, and project execution.

Mr. Gelhausen MinimalMr. Gelhousen comes to APM Terminals from the automotive supplier Brose, where he served as a member of the Executive Board and oversaw the transformation of the whole business, including the Business Service Centres, HR, LEAN, Organisational Development, and Project Management.

Olaf Gelhausen was in charge of manufacturing plants, product and process development, supply chain and quality management, operations, IT, and HSSE at Thyssenkrupp Bilstein before joining Brose. A new strategy for digitalization and automation was put into place under his direction, bringing in additive manufacturing, big data analysis, collaborative robotics, and machine learning technologies.

Olaf Gelhausen, who has held senior positions in operations, procurement, and supply chain at Infineon Technologies and has experience working in the US, Singapore, and Germany, also held the position of general manager for Hella in China.

Born and reared in Berlin, Mr. Gelhausen is a citizen of Germany. He holds master’s degrees in business and physics from Germany as well as a PhD in physics from the University of Technology Sydney in Australia.
