One of the biggest express transportation firms in the world, FedEx Express (FedEx), a division of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), is expanding its intercontinental services between Vietnam and India with the launch of a new flying service that provides quicker transit times.
With effect from October 31, 2023, importers in India will benefit from a one-day improvement in transit time thanks to the new flight service, which will employ a dedicated B767 freighter operating four evenings a week from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Shipments will now arrive in India in two business days, thanks to a total of nine weekly flights leaving from Ho Chi Minh City.
With this improvement from FedEx, companies in India will be able to take advantage of Vietnam’s rising reputation as a manufacturing powerhouse. India is one of Vietnam’s top eight commercial partners at the moment, and the two nations’ bilateral commerce has grown steadily over time. Indian statistics for the April 2022–March 2023 fiscal year shows that bilateral trade increased by 4 percent year over year to USD 14.70 billion from 2021–2022.
“The evolving India-Vietnam relationship promises to unlock new growth opportunities for businesses in both nations, facilitating increased trade and economic expansion,” said Nitin Tatiwala, vice president of Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and Africa air network, FedEx Express.
“The transit time enhancement can provide importers in India with a competitive advantage, by helping them build faster and more efficient supply chain networks with businesses in Vietnam. This facilitates trade and boosts the growth of businesses, especially SMEs, in both countries.”
Since 1984, FedEx has facilitated international trade to and from India. Businesses in India can have a competitive edge with the new air service because to quicker delivery times. The company’s commitment to enhancing services and bolstering operations in the nation is reaffirmed in this most recent statement.
