Indian Railways has decided to permit up to eight tonnes of cargo to be parceled in each train run by private operators. However, the private players have requested to attach extra parcel van; which Indian Railways has not yet decided. In addition, the way private operators have the authority of deciding the berth and seating in the train; they can decide the tariffs for cargo customers. One more thing, haulage charges have not been dropped by Indian railways and this is the concern of private players.
