The 3-day 48th Annual ACAAI Convention, themed “Wings of Innovation: Chartering New Paths in Logistics,” commenced today in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event kicked off with a lamp lighting ceremony attended by notable figures including Guest of Honour Piyush Srivastava, Senior Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Civil Aviation; Chief Guest Sridharan Madhusudhanan, Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan; Sameer Gogia, Executive Director at Deloitte; ACAAI President C K Govil; ACAAI Southern Regional Chairman Dinesh Krishnan; and Convention Chairman Manoj Kumar Jain.

President Govil stated, “The ACAAI Convention in Baku is set to be a significant event, providing valuable insights and networking opportunities for all attendees. We will focus on innovative strategies and sustainable practices to meet the evolving demands of the global air cargo and logistics industry.”

The Ambassador emphasized the strong bilateral relations between India and Azerbaijan in tourism, the oil sector, and cultural exchanges, highlighting opportunities for enhanced collaboration in logistics and trade. “This convention is an opportunity to strengthen our connections and explore new growth avenues,” he remarked.

Piyush Srivastava discussed the pivotal role of innovation in the air cargo sector, stressing the importance of adopting cutting-edge technologies and creative solutions to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving global market. “Innovation is essential for unlocking new efficiencies and meeting the increasing expectations of the industry,” he noted. Meanwhile, Gogia from Deloitte shared intriguing statistics regarding air cargo trade.
