IndiGo CarGo, the cargo arm of IndiGo, has introduced a new freighter service operating three times a week between Kolkata, India, and Ezhou, Hubei Province, China. Mark Sutch, Chief Commercial Officer, Cargo, IndiGo, celebrated the launch on LinkedIn, noting, “It’s a great pleasure to mark the opening of IndiGo CarGo’s latest international freighter initiative. Ezhou, with its focus on logistics and a major express carrier base, is akin to the Memphis of China. Its central location in China provides extensive reach via road feed services to numerous major cities.”
In July 2024, IndiGo CarGo also signed a significant interline agreement with Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP), enhancing connectivity between their networks. Discussions were held between AFKLMP and IndiGo CarGo officials to strengthen their partnership and explore further cooperation in the future.
For the first quarter of the 2024-25 financial year, IndiGo reported an 18% increase in total income, reaching ₹20,250 crore, though net profit decreased by 12% to ₹2,730 crore.
