Folk Maritime Services Company, a leading provider of maritime services in the region, announced on Sunday the launch of a new liner service connecting Jeddah Islamic Port in the Red Sea with India’s Mundra and Nhava Sheva, two of the country’s largest commercial ports. This 10-day service, which will begin in September, will deploy two vessels and is set to boost trade between Saudi Arabia and India by facilitating the movement of consumer cargo and petrochemical products.

In addition to deploying its own vessel, Folk Maritime has also signed a Vessel Sharing Agreement (VSA) with Oman’s Asayd, which will contribute an additional vessel to the new route. The service, called the India Redsea Service (IRS), aims to enhance bilateral trade and advance Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative by establishing the Kingdom as a global logistics hub.
