Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) recorded a robust performance, handling 3,527,487 TEUs of containers between April 2024 and September 2024, marking a 13% growth compared to the same period last year. In September 2024 alone, JNPA processed 596,790 TEUs, an impressive 16% increase over September 2023. Additionally, total cargo handled in September 2024 reached 7.38 million tonnes, reflecting a 6% growth year-on-year.

From April 2024 to September 2024, JNPA also facilitated the movement of 3,226 container rakes and 513,553 TEUs, surpassing the previous year’s numbers of 3,126 rakes and 499,695 TEUs, further strengthening its position as India’s premier container port. JNPA continues to manage five container terminals—NSFT, NSICT, NSIGT, BMCT, and APMT, alongside a Shallow Water Berth for general cargo and a Liquid Cargo Terminal operated by the BPCL-IOCL consortium. The recently constructed coastal berth is further driving coastal container traffic, enhancing JNPA’s operational capacity.

Spread across 277 hectares, JNPA also manages a multi-product Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with cutting-edge infrastructure designed to support export-oriented industries, making it a critical node in India’s logistics and supply chain network.
