K-Mile Asia, Thailand’s express cargo airline, has announced the addition of its first widebody freighter, a Boeing 767-300BCF (registered HS-KSA), marking a significant milestone for both the airline and the country, as it becomes Thailand’s inaugural operator of this aircraft model.
The newly acquired B767-300BCF, which arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) on Friday, September 6, 2024, is painted in K-Mile’s livery and is set to begin operations in October. This addition will enhance connectivity between Thailand, Southeast Asia, China, and India, providing more robust cargo services to the region.
With a cargo capacity of up to 51.7 tonnes (115,808 pounds), the B767-300BCF offers 11,884 cubic feet of space on its main deck for 24 pallets and an additional 3,830 cubic feet in the lower hold. Its versatile design makes it suitable for long-haul, regional, and feeder routes, with a range of up to 6,105 kilometres (3,305 nautical miles), making it ideal for transporting both express parcels and larger cargo loads.
This aircraft will complement K-Mile’s current fleet of five Boeing 737 freighters, expanding the airline’s capabilities and offering cost-effective cargo solutions to customers in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The introduction of the B767-300BCF is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and extend the airline’s service reach.
Pansith Sasunee, Managing Director of K-Mile Asia, expressed excitement over the arrival of the new aircraft, noting that it represents a major step forward for the airline in its commitment to growth and service enhancement. The freighter is expected to boost the company’s ability to provide high-quality, reliable cargo services across its network.
K-Mile is a joint venture with ASL Aviation Holdings, a global aviation services provider operating a fleet of 150 aircraft across eight cargo and passenger airlines in Europe, Australia, Asia, and South Africa. ASL, known for its global operations of Boeing 737 freighters, serves major clients including DHL, FedEx, UPS, and Amazon, further strengthening K-Mile’s position in the cargo market.
