Lufthansa Cargo proudly welcomed its 18th Boeing 777 freighter to Frankfurt Airport on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The new long-haul freighter was delivered directly from the Boeing factory in Everett, USA, to the cargo airline’s largest hub.

“We are thrilled to add another efficient freighter to our fleet,” said Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo. “This addition will enhance our capacity, support our growth in the air freight market, and better serve global business needs. The B777F remains the most efficient and modern freighter in its category, representing a significant investment in our modern long-haul fleet and contributing to more sustainable air cargo operations.”

The new freighter has been named “¡Hola Argentina!” as part of Lufthansa Cargo’s “Say Hello Around the World” naming tradition.

Currently, Lufthansa Cargo operates a full fleet of twelve Boeing 777 freighters on long-haul routes. In addition, six B777 freighters are managed by AeroLogic, a joint venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo. The network is further bolstered by four A321 freighters serving short and medium-haul routes. Starting this summer, these freighters will connect not only Frankfurt but also the Munich hub directly to the network. Lufthansa Cargo also leverages the belly capacity of Lufthansa, Discover, Brussels, Austrian Airlines, and SunExpress, providing freight customers with up to 7,000 flights a week to over 350 destinations worldwide.
