In celebration of India’s 78th Independence Day, Mahindra Logistics Limited, one of the country’s leading integrated logistics solutions providers, has unveiled the ‘Emission Analytics Report.’ This innovative digital platform offers customers real-time visualization of their carbon emissions, empowering them to take decisive steps towards decarbonizing their supply chains. Focusing on transportation, the user-friendly platform provides detailed insights into Scope 3 carbon emissions, emissions intensity, tonne-kilometers, emissions by mode of transport, fuel usage, and more. Customers can access these insights through a subscription-based model, designed to facilitate informed decisions on reducing their carbon footprint.
The Emission Analytics Report is an integral component of Mahindra Logistics’ broader green logistics initiative, driven by their pioneering green last-mile delivery service, Edel. Originally focused on sustainable last-mile cargo delivery, Edel has now expanded into a comprehensive suite that includes carbon-neutral warehousing solutions, a fleet of electric vehicles (2W, 3W, and 4W) for last-mile delivery, and this new Emissions Analytics Report. The platform operates on a fully automated, SaaS-based system, accredited by the Global Logistics Emission Council (GLEC) and ISO 14083, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems. It is accessible on both web and mobile devices, making it user-friendly and versatile.
This platform is designed to support companies in complying with BRSR and other environmental regulations, as well as those aiming to enhance their sustainability practices and transition to greener logistics. By optimizing transportation, the Emission Analytics Report also provides shipment-level reporting of Scope 3 emissions across various industries, including automotive, manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and freight forwarding.
Commenting on the launch, Rampraveen Swaminathan, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Logistics Ltd., stated, “Logistics today is about creating value for stakeholders, customers, communities, and the planet. To mark India’s 78th Independence Day, we are celebrating ‘Freedom from emissions’ by launching the ‘Emission Analytics Report’ as part of Edel – our green logistics ecosystem, empowering our customers to decarbonize their supply chains. At Mahindra Logistics, we are committed to contributing to India’s ambitious goal of becoming Net-Zero by 2070, building a futuristic supply chain driven by a sustainable logistics network, and integrating environmental consciousness into our actions.”
Swayantani Ghosh, Chief Sustainability & CSR Officer at Mahindra Logistics Ltd., added, “In a rapidly growing economy like India, leading a comprehensive effort in the fight against climate change is imperative. Particularly in the context of supply chain, Scope 3 decarbonization presents unique challenges in the absence of the right framework, tools, and data. With the introduction of shipment-level Emission Analytics Report powered by climate-focused AI, our clients can track the carbon footprint of their shipments in real-time, access emissions savings analytics, and evaluate decarbonization models. From reporting to low-carbon decision-making, we, as an integrated logistics player, aim to partner with our clients in their transition to net-zero.”
