T K Ramachandran, a Tamil Nadu cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer is currently Chairman, V O Chidambaranar Port Authority, one of the 12 major ports owned by the Centre.

Ramachandran is on Central deputation (five years) from 28 December 2018 as Chairman, V O Chidambaranar Port Authority during which he has been promoted first to Additional Secretary rank and then to Secretary rank on 19 October 2022.

Ramachandran’s five-year Central deputation will end in December this year. He will superannuate on 7 September 2025. Pant who had a brief tenure of a little over four months in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, has been appointed Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Health and Family Welfare and will take over as the Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health, and Family Welfare on 31 July.

Pant, a Rajasthan cadre IAS officer, was appointed Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways on 1 February this year. Prior to that, he was OSD in the same ministry from 1 December 2022.
