In an exclusive interview with Apace Digital Cargo, Kunal Maheshwari, Chief Growth Officer, Softlink Global traces the journey of Softlink from floppy disks in 90s to knocking the doors of AI in 2025. Talking from LogiSys to collaborations, Kunal emphasizes Softlink’s objective of developing an integrated ecosystem where every facet of logistics is seamlessly interconnected, optimized for speed, accuracy, and sustainability.
To begin with, how Softlink Global is revolutionizing the logistics industry? Could you share some insights into the key technologies Softlink Global is utilizing to enhance efficiency and transparency in air freight operations?
Softlink Global has always been a pioneer in digital logistics transformation. The secret of our longevity at the top, right from the 90s when logistics was pen and paper, to 2025 when AI knocks on our doors – is nothing but continuous innovation and development.
We have recently introduced advanced data analytics tools in Logi-Sys, helping leaders make data-based decisions. There’s TradeCHAIN, our blockchain-powered data and documents exchange platform, then Logi-Sys also supports real-time shipment visibility, airline connectivity, automated document management and so much more.
Right now, we are dabbling with AI for conversational chatbots. Softlink always keeps its customers, and that’s the way we’ll continue to operate.
How does Softlink Global ensure data security and compliance with international regulations within its technology solutions?
We employ multi-layered cybersecurity measures, including encryption, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and AI-driven threat detection, to protect sensitive logistics data. Our systems undergo regular updates and rigorous compliance checks to align with global standards, ensuring secure and efficient operations.
To address operational disruptions, we’ve implemented geographically redundant disaster recovery (DR) systems with data synchronization every 15 minutes. This minimizes downtime and ensures seamless recovery in case of cyberattacks or technical failures, keeping logistics operations uninterrupted.
Softlink Global’s proactive approach empowers businesses with resilient systems, offering confidence in an increasingly digital logistics ecosystem – one that is more interconnected and, because of it, more vulnerable than ever before.
Can you provide an example of how your solutions have successfully improved operational efficiency for a business?
We recently onboarded a global logistics provider, in business for 40+ years with 18+ offices spread across the world. They were previously relying on a well-established Australian logistics management software firm, but were struggling with limitations like inflexibility in customizing workflows and complex interfaces that led to inefficiencies and user dissatisfaction.
After exploring options, a strategic decision was made on their part to transition to our Intelligent Cloud ERP Logi-Sys. We were able to help them streamline operations and improve presence and efficiency across multiple markets. The decision to transition from a leading firm to Logi-Sys was driven by our platform’s advanced features, unified database architecture, cost-effectiveness, and ability to adapt seamlessly to their unique operational needs
This move reflects the growing trust in Logi-Sys to deliver seamless, scalable solutions for global logistics leaders.
What challenges does Softlink Global face in keeping up with rapid technological advancements, and how do you address them?
The pace of technological advancements in logistics is both an opportunity and a challenge. The biggest hurdles include staying ahead of evolving customer expectations and managing the seamless integration of emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and IoT into existing systems.
At Softlink Global, we address these challenges through proactive R&D investments and an agile development methodology. Our teams work closely with industry experts and customers to identify pain points and co-create solutions that are not only innovative but practical. This collaborative approach ensures we adapt to change in a way that benefits our customers.
In the competitive landscape of logistics technology, what sets Softlink Global apart?
I would say it’s a combination of our product value, our deep domain understanding that contributes to our product innovations along with all other activities under the Softlink Global brand, and the best-in-class customer support we provide across the world.
We see well-renowned, leading technology providers not being available for their customers during non-working hours, weekends, etc. – it so happens that their customers have to deal with 3rd-party support providers for small fixes – all of this is not feasible for business growth in the lightning-fast world of logistics. At Softlink, everything is organic – our customer support is inhouse, our methodologies and values are consistent for over 3 decades owing to stability in our leadership team; our technologies are second to none – and that is why you see what you see – our customers, once they arrive, never leave.
Could you discuss any recent partnerships or collaborations that have been pivotal for Softlink Global? What is your strategy for the international market as Softlink has been in news for the recent international collaborations like CargoAi, Kenya, etc?
Strategic collaborations are at the heart of our growth strategy. Just last month at the Air Cargo Forum in Miami, we penned an integration with CargoAi which will further enhance Logi-Sys’ airline connectivity, giving our users access to real-time air cargo bookings, live tracking, competitive rate comparisons, carbon emission tracking, and automated eAWB submissions.
Softlink Global is also part of the IATA Strategic Partnerships Program, supporting the air cargo industry’s transition to the IATA ONE Record initiative, a noteworthy step towards a digitally driven future in air cargo.
Escrow Africa is our official partner in Kenya, supporting the Softlink Partner Program in the region, which includes implementation, hands-on training, and continuous support. This comes as part of our overall strategy of building strong relationships with local stakeholders in international markets.
What future innovations or developments can we expect from Softlink Global in the next few years to elevate the air cargo industry?
The future of Softlink Global is rooted in innovation and foresight. In the coming years, we are committed to further integrating AI and machine learning into our systems. For example, predictive analytics will help businesses forecast demand and optimize routes more efficiently.
Additionally, we are exploring IoT integration to provide deeper shipment insights, such as real-time environmental monitoring for sensitive cargo. Our goal is to create an ecosystem where every aspect of logistics—from planning to execution—is seamlessly connected and optimized for speed, accuracy, and sustainability.
