MSC, the world’s largest container shipping company, has announced plans for its independent service network on East/West trade routes. This new network will become operational in February 2025, following the conclusion of the 2M Alliance between MSC and Maersk.

The new standalone service will feature five key trade routes with a total of 34 loops, including:

  • Seven loops for Asia–North Europe
  • Six loops for Asia–Mediterranean
  • Four loops for Asia–North America West Coast
  • Six loops for Asia–North America East Coast
  • Eleven loops for the Transatlantic Network

MSC has emphasized offering flexibility with weekly services, providing over 1,900 direct port pairs via the Suez Canal and more than 1,800 direct port pairs via the Cape of Good Hope.
