From Challenges to Champions: Women Shaping the Logistics Industry
Sakshi Gupta, Country Manager – India, Air Logistics Group, beautifully, artistically, penned down her thoughts, believing that #shemoveslogistics
How do you think we can celebrate and honour the achievements of women in the cargo and logistics industry on International Women’s Day, and throughout the year?
I truly believe in the hashtag #shemoveslogistics
I’m fondly reminded of a lovely quote by Diane Mariechild- “A woman is a full circle, within her is the power to create, to nurture and transform”, which aptly depicts the pivotal role and potential a woman has, to bring about a transformation in any given field, be it logistics.
Celebrating and recognizing the accomplishments of women in the cargo and logistics sector can be achieved through various initiatives that showcase their contributions and inspire future generations. On International Women’s Day and throughout the year, we can establish platforms—such as conferences, webinars, or publications—to share the uplifting stories of women leaders in the field.
Creating mentorship opportunities where experienced professionals can mentor and support young women entering the logistics industry can help cultivate a supportive environment that promotes growth and development. Additionally, organizing award ceremonies to honor the outstanding achievements of women in logistics and hosting networking events specifically for women in this sector can enhance community, collaboration, and support.
By employing these strategies, we not only celebrate the accomplishments of women in logistics but also lay the groundwork for a more inclusive and vibrant future for the industry.
Can you share your journey with us at Air Logistics Group, any challenges you’ve faced as a woman working in the cargo and logistics industry, and also, how did you overcome them?
“Women in logistics is not just about moving goods, it’s their stories that inspire and MOVE PEOPLE”
My journey & quest is that of courage, of hunger, of tough choices, of breaking preconceived notions, of learning through triumphs & lifting myself up from failures to try n try again & finally forging my way ahead

Balancing work and family commitments while fulfilling roles as entrepreneurs, mothers, wives, and daughters has been a significant challenge faced by many Indian women for ages. To be acknowledged and respected by male counterparts and to navigate the obstacles along the way requires passion, determination, resilience, and a calm yet assertive demeanor. Believing in yourself and moving forward with conviction is essential. Embrace your mistakes as learning opportunities, remain humble, and uplift and celebrate the achievements of other women.
So it’s imperative to celebrate & support the ENERGY OF A WOMAN EVERYDAY as WE WEAVE WONDERS so a shout to all to step up & “uncork the champagne of her energy, let her SPARKLE EMPOW’H’ER HER & make the world & HER WORLD MORE POWERFUL” 🌏✊🏻💪🏼💪🏼
Personally, coming from a non-cargo background, I never imagined myself in logistics. Initially, I felt apprehensive, but once I entered the field, it was a euphoric revelation—a rush of excitement that affirmed, “Yes, cargo is my calling!” It felt like a perfect fit. To this day, that excitement fuels my drive to push boundaries, pay attention to detail, and engage in every aspect of the industry, even those outside my immediate responsibilities.
I eagerly anticipate Monday mornings, a testament to what logistics offers me. I often find myself restless until tasks are completed. My passion for work can be overwhelming for my family and colleagues at times, but that’s just who I am. Possessing intelligence, prudence, an analytical mindset, and a proactive attitude are vital for success. I must emphasize that all of this has been made possible by the support of the Air Logistics Group family, who allowed me to integrate beautifully into their vibrant logistics community.
Air Logistics Group fosters a diverse and inclusive environment, providing an equitable platform that not only supports and mentors you but also empowers you with insights and motivation to explore and grow. Above all, I believe that your hard work and integrity are under the watchful eyes of Mother Nature and are crucial for your advancement.
