Hong Kong Air Cargo has entered Europe for the first time, with a new service to Italy aimed at e-commerce volumes.
The new three-times-week service will operate between Hong Kong International Airport and Milan Malpensa on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, departing shortly after midnight and arriving in Italy at 9:15am.
The flights will be carried out by one of the airline’s Airbus A330-200 freighters. On October 29, the maiden flight took place.
According to the airline, this service is a dedicated solution for e-commerce logistics, providing same-day delivery of items.
The airline went on to say that it wanted to add additional flights to Europe in the future, with Belgium and the Netherlands on the list.

“We look forward to further expanding our European route network in the near future, including destinations such as Liege in Belgium and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.”
Over the previous 18 months, the carrier has expanded by opening a new Greater Bay Area Office (GBA Office) in Shenzhen, as well as conducting charter flights to Sydney and introducing a service to Tokyo.
In May 2021, the carrier was granted a license to operate scheduled flights to Europe. It has formerly operated charter flights.
Hong Kong Air Cargo currently has five Airbus A330-200 freighters in service.
