At the Farnborough International Airshow, a significant agreement was signed in the presence of the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, Chairman of the Board of NAS Holding Ayed Al Jeaid, Flynas Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director Bandar Almohanna, and Airbus Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Aircraft, Christian Scherer.

Flynas’ new A330-900 aircraft will join its all-Airbus fleet, enhancing services on international, domestic, and regional routes. These aircraft, configured in a two-class layout, will accommodate up to 400 passengers.

Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Aircraft, expressed delight in expanding the partnership with Flynas, stating, “The A330neo will enable Flynas to grow into widebody markets, building on the A320 while benefiting from Airbus’ unique commonality. Both aircraft types offer the perfect versatility and economics for expansion into new markets, providing passengers with the latest cabin experience and comfort. We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with Flynas as they embark on this exciting new chapter.”

The inclusion of the A330-900 aircraft aligns with Flynas’ ambitious growth plans, promising significant operational efficiency gains by integrating the new widebody aircraft with its existing A320neo fleet. The A330-900, with its increased capacity and range, ensures Flynas can effectively compete in the expanding regional market, a key focus for the airline.

Powered by the latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the A330neo offers unmatched operating economics, featuring new wings and aerodynamic innovations that reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions by 25% compared to previous-generation competitor aircraft. Capable of flying 8,150 nm / 15,094 km non-stop, the A330neo provides ultimate comfort with more passenger space, a new lighting system, the latest in-flight entertainment systems, and full connectivity throughout the cabin.

In line with Airbus’ commitment to sustainability, the A330 family can operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus aims for its aircraft to be 100% SAF-capable by 2030.
