Delhi and Mumbai customs has started faceless cargo assessment from August 3, as per the statement by Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). Earlier in June, CBIC rolled out the first phase of ‘faceless assessment’ scheme for importing goods in Bengaluru and Chennai. And it is prepared for pan India roll out by January 1, 2021. The board also noted that faceless assessment ushered a smooth and faster clearance process with uniformity in assessment.
