Apace Digital Cargo attended the 10th edition of the Economic Times Supply Chain Management & Logistics Summit 2023. The summit, held today, focused on the crucial theme of “Adaptability, Sustainability, and Visibility”
The event kicked off with a Global Keynote Address presented by Robin Joffe, Partnering Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia at Frost and Sullivan. He delved into the topic of identifying disruptions in global supply chains and discussed effective strategies to address them.
In an exciting development, new logo for the Supply Chain Management and Logistics Summit 2023 10th edition was revealed at the event.
Rampraveen Swaminathan, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Logistics, took the stage to share insights on developing innovative supply chain strategies that drive business value creation. His presentation highlighted the importance of staying at the forefront of evolving industry practices.
Dipali Goenka, MD & CEO of Welspun, delivered an address as the Advisory Board Chair, emphasising the significance of adaptability, sustainability, and visibility in supply chain management.
Anindya Bhattacharya, an industry specialist in manufacturing from AWS India, captivated the audience with his talk on leveraging artificial intelligence-powered supply chain applications on the cloud to reduce risks and lower costs.
A panel discussion ensued, exploring the future of supply chains in the face of evolving customer behavior, global headwinds, and rapid technological advancements. Moderated by Ajay Nair, Leader of Supply Chain Transformation at PwC India, the panel featured esteemed speakers such as Manish Sharma (Chairman, Panasonic Life Solutions India and SA), Angelo George (CEO, Bisleri International), Rampraveen Swaminathan (MD & CEO, Mahindra Logistics), and Anil Syal (President, Safexpress).
Kami Viswanathan, Senior Vice President of Operations for the MEISA region at FedEx Express, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on unlocking the potential of logistics to drive sustainable and innovative supply chains.
Another panel discussion tackled the topic of sustainable supply chains and fulfilling stakeholder expectations. Moderated by Sambitosh Mohapatra, ESG Leader at PwC India, the panel included experts like Sunit Mukherji (Head of Lubricant Supply Chain, India Hub, Shell), Sreenivas Rao Nandigam (Global Head of Supply Chain, Sun Pharma), Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur (VP Supply Chain, Dr. Reddy’s), Deepak Sharma (Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Bajaj Electricals), and Prarthana Borah (Country Director, CDP).
Christian Hausherr delivered a global keynote address on the topic of supply chain trade finance, shedding light on how it unlocks global growth and efficiency.
Sarala Menon, Executive Vice President of Supply Chain at Colgate Palmolive, presented an insightful session on sustainability practices at Colgate, showcasing the company’s commitment to environmentally friendly operations.
The event also featured discussions on infrastructure development in India for 2023 and beyond. Notable speakers included Smt. Sumita Dawra (DPIIT) discussing the transformative National Master Plan for Infrastructure Development, Shri. Sanjeev Ranjan (Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India) highlighting the Sagarmala project’s role in rejuvenating sea ports, and Shri. S.P. Singh (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) discussing economic growth and industrialization through the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). Nitin Naiir (ONDC) addressed the importance of building an interconnected digital infrastructure through the ONDC initiative.
The summit’s chief guest, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal (Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Government of India) graced the event and discussed India’s vision and plans in the domain.
Another engaging panel discussion focused on overcoming obstacles with mindful resilience.
