Eng. Loay Mashabi, the previous Deputy Minister for Logistics Services at the Ministry of Transportation and Logistics Services, has been appointed as Saudia Cargo’s new Managing Director, starting October 8. Saudia Cargo is the air freight division of Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier, SAUDIA.
Mashabi has made a significant contribution to strengthening Saudi Arabia’s standing as a top logistics hub. He has a strong background in the logistics industry.
Mashabi has held a number of senior positions throughout his career in both the public and private sectors, including his time on the boards of Saudia Cargo, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), Riyadh Integrated (Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and Storage), and the Saudi Exports Authority.
Working closely with Saudia Cargo CEO Teddy Zebitz, Mashabi will be in charge of a number of tasks and strategic initiatives to maintain the business’s growth trajectory as well as its transformation plan to increase its fleet of dedicated freighters and place it among the top 10 air cargo carriers in the world in the ensuing years.
Zebitz enthusiastically praised Mashabi’s latest appointment. He emphasized that Loay’s background and wealth of expertise will prove invaluable in advancing Saudia Cargo’s ambitious expansion ambitions and stated, “We are happy to have Loay on board and to welcome him to the Saudia Cargo family.

Mashabi has a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from King Fahd University and an Executive MBA from London Business School.
