Dhamra Port in Odisha, operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), has become India’s first large-scale private multi-cargo port to operate entirely on renewable electricity, marking a significant step towards its Net-Zero goals.

Handling more than 48 million tonnes of cargo annually, the port now meets over 90 lakh units of monthly electricity demand through renewable sources, with annual renewable power consumption exceeding 108 GWh.

The transition combines captive renewable power, third-party access and green-power procurement under Odisha’s regulatory framework. The move is expected to reduce emissions associated with electricity use while strengthening the port’s environmental performance and supporting APSEZ’s long-term Net-Zero strategy.
