Uzbekistan and China Strengthen Cooperation in Transport & Logistics

Representatives of Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC visited Urumqi, China, as part of a delegation led by the Ministry of Transport to explore new opportunities for transport and logistics cooperation.

During the visit, the delegation examined transport infrastructure, logistics facilities, technological developments, and opportunities within the Urumqi Free Trade Zone.

Discussions with Xinjiang Commercial Logistics focused on cargo consolidation, potential joint investments, and new logistics projects. The talks also explored the development of modern warehousing infrastructure to support Uzbekistan’s growing e-commerce sector.

Another area of discussion was the possibility of temporarily storing and selling Chinese products through Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC’s logistics centers, creating new avenues for trade and distribution.

According to Uzbekistan Railways, both sides expressed their readiness to continue dialogue and pursue new joint projects in transport and logistics.
The developments come amid growing regional rail connectivity, with Qazinform reporting that Kazakhstan–China rail freight increased by 9% to 18.7 million tonnes in the first half of 2026.
