Dubai-based cargo airline SolitAir has expanded its Central Asian network with the addition of Tashkent International Airport and Navoi International Airport in Uzbekistan.

The new cargo services connect both Uzbek airports with Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central), SolitAir’s main hub. The airline said the expansion is aimed at meeting growing demand for the transportation of perishable goods while strengthening its presence in the Central Asian market.

Prior to entering Uzbekistan, SolitAir operated services to Bishkek, Almaty and Astana. The airline highlighted the region’s growing air cargo potential, supported by continued investment in transport infrastructure and evolving trade flows.

During the first half of 2026, air transport operators in Uzbekistan handled approximately 57,200 tonnes of cargo, underscoring the country’s growing role in the region’s air freight sector.

SolitAir Founder and CEO Hamdi Osman said the airline plans to provide additional cargo capacity in a market handling more than 100,000 tonnes of air freight annually. He added that the expanded network is expected to strengthen connectivity between the Global South and Europe, while supporting Uzbekistan’s ambitions to develop as a Eurasian transport hub.

With the addition of Uzbekistan, SolitAir’s network now covers more than 60 destinations across over 40 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.

The carrier currently operates a fleet of seven Boeing 737-800 freighters, each capable of carrying up to 20 tonnes of cargo. SolitAir plans to grow its fleet to 20 aircraft by the end of 2027.

The airline holds an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, along with EASA Third Country Operator (TCO) authorization, ACC3 status from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority, and a TCO certificate from the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
